Using Claude Code for ABM is not a theoretical concept anymore.

It is already reshaping how B2B marketers run [account-based marketing](/) from their terminals.

With 78.7% of companies now incorporating AI into their ABM programs ([State of ABM 2025](https://www.outcomesrocket.com/blogs/state-of-account-based-marketing-2025-insights-roi-and-the-rise-of-ai)), and the shift from “AI-assisted” to “AI-orchestrated” marketing in full swing,

Claude Code has emerged as the most practical tool for marketers who want to move fast without building custom software from scratch.

This post will walk you through every use case we have found, the free plugins and public repos that make it all possible, and exactly how to get started with a strong focus on LinkedIn-first ABM.

## Claude Code for ABM: Quick Summary

Short on time?

Here’s a quick summary:

- Claude Code is Anthropic’s CLI tool that runs in your terminal and can read/write files, run shell commands, call APIs, and chain workflows, unlike chat interfaces which forget context between sessions.
- Plugins (aka skills) are the unlock: pre-built markdown instruction files you install by pasting a GitHub URL. No coding required. Trigger with slash commands like /abm-report or /outbound.
- Target account list building: Traditional research takes 15-25 minutes per account. [Claude Code plugin](https://github.com/explorium-ai/agentsource-plugin) delivers complete dossiers in under 2 minutes. At 50 accounts/day, that’s reclaiming 12+ hours of SDR time per week.
- LinkedIn ad creation: Generating variants at scale traditionally takes 30 minutes per variant. Claude Code + brand guidelines cuts it to 30 seconds. That’s 60x faster. [Download the recommended plugin here.](https://www.advancedclient.io/linkedin-ad-designer-download)
- Ad auditing: [Claude Ads skill](https://github.com/AgriciDaniel/claude-ads) runs 250+ checks across 7 ad platforms (Google, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Microsoft, Apple) in one run. Generates health scores and prioritized action plans. Stays local – no data leaves your machine.
- Performance reporting: Instead of logging into Campaign Manager, exporting CSVs, building spreadsheets, the [LinkedIn ABM Reporter plugin](https://github.com/emikor/zenabm-linkedin-abm-reporting) delivers full weekly/monthly/quarterly reports with period-over-period comparisons, red flags, and optimization recommendations. Type one command.
- Intent-based outbound: The [ZenABM Outbound Agent plugin](https://github.com/emikor/zenabm-outbound-agent-plugin) reads engagement signals from ZenABM, finds ICP-matched contacts via Apollo.io, generates personalized emails referencing actual ad interactions, pushes to Smartlead, runs weekly on autopilot. Set it once, forget about it.
- Why ZenABM’s API over LinkedIn’s API: LinkedIn MDP approval takes 2-4 weeks (often rejected with no explanation). Token management is a nightmare – 60-day expiry, 365-day refresh that counts down from grant date. At day 360, you have 5 days before both expire. Most critically: LinkedIn doesn’t expose company-level data – you get impressions/clicks but not “which companies actually engaged.”
- ZenABM solves the data gap: Bearer token (5 minutes to set up), long-lived (no refresh headaches), company-level engagement data natively, deal attribution, ABM stage progression, intent signals, clean REST API. Everything LinkedIn’s API won’t give you.
- LinkedIn TLA benchmarks: 2.68% median CTR at $2.29 CPC. Single image ads: 0.42% CTR at $13.23 CPC. TLAs are 6x more efficient on clicks and 6x cheaper per click. This is based on ZenABM’s analysis of 161,256 ads across 211 companies.
- The speed advantage: Signal-to-action was measured in days (run campaign, wait for data, make decision, implement). Now it’s measured in hours. Account moves to “Interested” stage → Claude Code triggers outreach the same day.
- No vendor lock-in: Every plugin is open source on GitHub. Fork it, modify it, build on it. You’re not locked into a platform.
- No engineering required: Plugins handle all technical complexity. Install by pasting a GitHub URL. Configure by answering Claude’s questions (API keys, ICP definition, persona). Operate by typing natural language commands.
- Starting point: Install Claude Code, paste the LinkedIn ABM Reporter plugin GitHub URL, type /abm-report. Get a comprehensive report with insights, red flags, and optimization recommendations without leaving your terminal. Takes under 5 minutes to set up.
- Total cost to automate your ABM: Claude Code requires Claude Pro or Team plan. All plugins are free and open source. [ZenABM free trial (37 days)](https://app.zenabm.com/signup) or $59/month after. Apollo.io free tier (10,000 records/month). Smartlead for email delivery (variable). You can run a fully automated ABM system for under $150/month after trial.

## How Claude Code Works and Why Plugins Change Everything for ABM

Claude Code is Anthropic’s CLI tool that runs directly in your terminal.

Unlike ChatGPT or other chat interfaces, it can read and write files on your machine, run shell commands, call APIs, and chain multi-step workflows together.

Claude Code also supports a collaborative mode called Co-work (previously known as “background agents”) where multiple Claude instances can work in parallel on different parts of a project.

The real unlock for ABM practitioners is **plugins** (also called “skills”).

A plugin is a markdown file that contains structured instructions, context, and workflows.

You install one by pasting a GitHub repo URL into Claude Code, and it clones the repo, sets up dependencies, and registers the skill.

From that point on, you can trigger the workflow with a simple slash command like `/outbound` or `/abm-report`.

No hours spent building agents.

No wrangling API connections.

No code to maintain.

This is the difference between 2025 and 2026 in AI marketing: in 2025, we were asking AI to write copy.

In 2026, we are building entire systems that discover, target, engage, and report on accounts directly from the terminal.

And the plugin ecosystem means you do not need engineering resources to get started.

## Every Claude Code for ABM Use Case We Found

After extensive research across GitHub repos, marketing newsletters, and practitioner communities, here is the full list of Claude Code use cases for account-based marketing.

Some of these have dedicated plugins already. Others are workflows marketers are building from scratch.

All of them are real.

### 1. Target Account List Building

Claude Code can research companies in batches, filter by ICP criteria, enrich with firmographic and technographic data, and output structured target account lists.

Tools like AgentSource and Crustdata offer MCP integrations that let Claude Code pull from company databases, score accounts by fit signals (funding, hiring, tech stack), and export CSV lists all in one workflow.

AgentSource, in fact, has an [**open-source plugin**](https://github.com/explorium-ai/agentsource-plugin) published on GitHub:

![Agentsource plugin](https://cdn.zenabm.com/assets/Recording-2026-04-27-154521.gif)

### 2. Prospecting into Target Accounts

Once you have a target list, Claude Code can find the right people within those accounts.

Traditional SDR research takes 15-25 minutes per account, which means researching 50+ accounts becomes impractical.

With Claude Code, you can build complete account dossiers (company overview, recent news, tech stack, key decision makers, personalization hooks) in under 2 minutes per account, which means researching 50+ accounts per day becomes practical instead of impossible.

### 3. Creating Ads at Scale Using Brand Guidelines

With the right plugin, Claude Code generates on-brand LinkedIn ads without Canva, Figma, or a designer.

The [**LinkedIn Ad Designer skill by Advanced Client**](https://www.advancedclient.io/linkedin-ad-designer-download) includes 23 pre-built ad patterns, like stat highlights, product screenshots, grid layouts, contrarian hooks, before/after comparisons, testimonials, and case study formats.

You upload your brand guidelines once, and every ad follows them.

![LinkedIn Ad Designer skill by Advanced Client](https://cdn.zenabm.com/media/linkedin-ad-designer-claude-skill.png)

### 4. Managing Ads from the Terminal with Natural Language

This is where it gets interesting for day-to-day campaign management.

Through MCP (Model Context Protocol) integrations and APIs, you can manage your LinkedIn ad campaigns directly from Claude Code using plain English.

For example:

- **Pausing underperforming ads:** “Pause all ads with CTR below 0.2% that have spent more than $500”
- **Excluding specific companies from campaigns:** “Exclude all companies with fewer than 50 employees from my awareness campaign”
- **Excluding specific job titles:** “Remove all ‘intern’ and ‘student’ job titles from my targeting”
- **Budget adjustments:** “Increase daily budget by 20% on campaigns with CPA below $150”

As Ali Yildirim (founder at Understory) shared in his [post](https://www.linkedin.com/posts/aayildirim_we-just-deployed-our-google-ads-mcp-quick-ugcPost-7389496969817210880-Fdeb) after deploying custom MCPs for both LinkedIn and Google Ads:

> “Both let us query campaign data in natural language through Claude. No exports, no dashboards, just direct API access to live performance data. Even in this raw state, it’s already saving hours every week.”

[Embedded post](https://www.linkedin.com/embed/feed/update/urn:li:ugcPost:7389496969817210880?collapsed=1)

This is the direction ad management is heading, and it works today.

You can do this through [ZenABM’s API](/docs/api) in Claude Code directly, using the [**free plugin that enables it**](https://github.com/emikor/zenabm-linkedin-abm-reporting).

ZenABM’s API gives you access to company-level engagement data, campaign performance, deal attribution, ABM stage progression, and more, all queryable from your terminal.

![ZenABM API documentation page showing endpoint URL, Bearer token authentication and a sample cURL request](https://cdn.zenabm.com/media/ZenABM-API-access-scaled.png)

### 5. Auditing Ad Accounts

![Open source Claude skill for LinkedIn ads audit](https://cdn.zenabm.com/assets/Recording-2026-04-27-140815.gif)

The [**Claude Ads skill by Agrici Daniel**](https://github.com/AgriciDaniel/claude-ads) is a free, open-source plugin that runs 250+ audit checks across Google Ads, Meta, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok, Microsoft, and Apple Ads.

It generates a weighted health score (0-100), flags red flags like wasted spend and poor conversion tracking, and provides prioritized action plans.

For LinkedIn specifically, it covers 27 checks, including B2B targeting quality, Thought Leader Ad setup, lead gen form configuration, and CRM integration health.

All analysis runs locally so no ad data leaves your machine.

### 6. Reporting on Ad Performance

![Claude code plugin for LinkedIn ABM reporting by ZenABM](https://cdn.zenabm.com/assets/Recording-2026-04-27-165019.gif)

The [**LinkedIn ABM Reporter plugin**](https://github.com/emikor/zenabm-linkedin-abm-reporting) generates comprehensive performance reports directly from your ZenABM account.

Type `/abm-report` or ask “Give me last week’s LinkedIn ABM report” and it pulls live data, computes period-over-period comparisons, surfaces insights, and flags issues.

We will go deep on this one below.

### 7. Optimizing Ads

By combining audit data with performance reporting, Claude Code can recommend specific optimizations: which campaigns to scale, which to pause, which ad formats are underperforming relative to benchmarks, and where budget is being wasted on impression hogs.

The reporting plugin flags companies receiving more than 5x the median impressions with no pipeline progression so you can exclude them and redirect budget.

### 8. Finding Top Engaged Accounts

Through ZenABM’s API, Claude Code surfaces the top engaged companies sorted by clicks, with ABM stage, intent signals, spend, and CTR per account.

It also tracks companies newly entering “Interested” or “Considering” stages, giving you a live feed of accounts worth pursuing.

The [reporting agent plugin](https://github.com/emikor/zenabm-linkedin-abm-reporting) automates this entirely.

### 9. Orchestrating Intent-Led Outreach

![ZenABM's intent-led outbound agent](https://cdn.zenabm.com/assets/Recording-2026-04-27-192852.gif)

ZenABM has a [**free plugin for intent-based outbound**](https://github.com/emikor/zenabm-outbound-agent-plugin) that reads ZenABM engagement data, finds contacts at engaged accounts via Apollo.io, generates personalized emails referencing actual ad interactions, and pushes everything to Smartlead for delivery.

It runs weekly on autopilot.

We will cover this in detail below.

## Building Target Account Lists with Claude Code

The first and most foundational use case is building your target account list.

Traditionally, this means hours in spreadsheets cross-referencing firmographic filters, tech stack data, hiring signals, and funding rounds.

Claude Code collapses this into a single workflow.

MarketBetter documented a four-step process that starts with confirmed intent signals (not cold lists), feeds them into Claude Code with structured prompts requesting specific information (company overview, recent news, tech stack, open roles, decision makers), and outputs complete account dossiers.

Their results: research time per account dropped from 20 minutes to roughly 2 minutes, enabling SDRs to research 50+ daily targets while reclaiming about 3 hours for actual selling.

Crustdata published a similar approach using MCP integrations with Apollo and Databar APIs.

Their four-stage workflow (Find, Enrich, Qualify, Outreach) uses reusable slash commands like `/prospect` and `/qualify`.

The output is 10-50 high-quality, signal-triggered messages per week, with per-prospect research fully automated.

The key insight across all these approaches: start with signals, not static lists.

AgentSource, in fact, has published an [**open source Claude code plugin**](https://github.com/explorium-ai/agentsource-plugin) to automate your target account-list building.

![Agentsource plugin](https://cdn.zenabm.com/assets/Recording-2026-04-27-154521.gif)

## Generating LinkedIn Ads with Claude Code at Scale

Creating LinkedIn ads at scale is one of the most time-consuming parts of ABM campaign management.

Each ad format, each persona, each stage of the funnel requires different copy, different creative, different CTAs.

The [**LinkedIn Ad Designer by Advanced Client**](https://www.advancedclient.io/linkedin-ad-designer-download) solves this with a Claude Code skill that generates on-brand ads directly in your conversation, no external design tools needed.

Here is how the process works:

1. **Create a Claude Project** named “LinkedIn Ads” and upload the downloaded skill file as project knowledge
2. **Configure your brand context** through project instructions: website URL, brand guidelines, existing ad examples, voice and tone specs, key metrics and proof points, ICP details, color codes, fonts
3. **Generate ads via chat:** ask Claude for specific ad types and it generates text-based designs following your brand guidelines

The skill includes 23 pre-built ad patterns spanning formats like stat highlights, product screenshots, grid layouts, contrarian hooks, before/after comparisons, testimonials, and case study formats.

As the guide emphasizes:

> “The richer the context, the better every ad will be.”

![LinkedIn Ad Designer skill by Advanced Client](https://cdn.zenabm.com/media/linkedin-ad-designer-claude-skill.png)

For ABM specifically, this means you can generate persona-specific ads for each tier of your target account list. Instead of creating 3-4 ad variants and hoping one resonates, you can generate dozens of variants targeting specific pain points, industries, and job functions all following the same brand guidelines.

Generation Digital reported reducing ad production time from 30 minutes to 30 seconds per variant, a 60x speedup.

Emilia Korczynska (VP of marketing at Userpilot has seen this pattern across her ABM program at Userpilot: different ad formats work for different purposes.

Our benchmarks data shows TLAs at 2.68% median CTR and $2.29 median CPC, while single image ads drive 0.42% CTR at $13.23 CPC.

![Performance of different LinkedIn ad formats in ABM campaigns compared based on trends analyzed in ZenABM's ABM benchmarks report 2026](https://cdn.zenabm.com/media/linkedin-ad-formats-abm-performance.png)

Having Claude Code generate variants for each format, each with proper brand context, means you can test more creative angles without bottlenecking on design resources.

## Intent-Based Outbound Agent Plugin for Claude Code

![ZenABM's intent-led outbound agent](https://cdn.zenabm.com/assets/Recording-2026-04-27-192852.gif)

This is the most exciting use case.

The [**ZenABM Outbound Agent plugin**](https://github.com/emikor/zenabm-outbound-agent-plugin) is a free Claude Code skill that turns ABM intent signals into personalized outreach, fully automated and running weekly on autopilot.

Here is the five-step workflow:

1. **Account Discovery:** the agent reads ZenABM and surfaces accounts actively engaging with your LinkedIn ads and content

ABM analytics and attribution dashboard in ZenABM

Companies Insights in ZenABM
2. **Contact Identification:** it uses Apollo.io (free tier gives you 10,000 records/month) to locate ICP-matched contacts within those target accounts
3. **Email Generation:** it creates unique, personalized messages referencing specific prospect engagements, not templates, but context-aware emails that mention what the prospect actually clicked on or engaged with
4. **Campaign Integration:** it transfers contacts and copy directly to Smartlead without manual data entry
5. **Automated Scheduling:** it runs every Monday at 10 AM automatically. Set it once, forget about it

Installation takes minutes: install Claude Code, paste the GitHub URL, let Claude configure dependencies, then type `/outbound`.

The skill asks for your API keys, ICP definition, target personas, and helps you customize your email copy.

What makes this different from generic outbound tools is the intent signal layer.

These are not cold emails.

Every prospect the agent reaches has already engaged with your ads.

As Philip Ilic (LinkedIn ads specialist) described in his [post](https://www.linkedin.com/posts/philip-ilic_linkedin-ads-outbound-are-far-the-best-activity-7403727342990151680-KJ-D), when building a similar system for his clients: “LinkedIn Ads plus Outbound are far the best combo for B2B SaaS”, combining social engagement, content leads, company-level engagement, and website visitors into warm outbound flows.

![Philip Ilic's post on Account-Based Experiences](https://cdn.zenabm.com/media/linkedin-ads-outbound-b2b-saas-system.png)

When you email someone who has already clicked on three of your TLAs and visited your pricing page, the reply rate is fundamentally different.

You need three accounts to get started: [ZenABM](/blog/what-is-zenabm) (with LinkedIn Ads connected), Apollo.io (free tier works), and Smartlead for email delivery.

## The LinkedIn ABM Reporting Plugin and Why ZenABM’s API Beats LinkedIn’s API

![Claude code plugin for LinkedIn ABM reporting by ZenABM](https://cdn.zenabm.com/assets/Recording-2026-04-27-165019.gif)

The [**LinkedIn ABM Reporter plugin**](https://github.com/emikor/zenabm-linkedin-abm-reporting) is a free Claude Code plugin that generates comprehensive performance reports directly from your ZenABM account.

Ask Claude for a weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annual report, and it pulls live data, computes comparisons, surfaces insights, flags red flags, and optionally exports a styled PDF, all without leaving your terminal.

### What the Report Actually Generates

This is not a generic metrics dump.

The reporting agent covers:

- **Headline Performance** with period-over-period comparison: total spend, impressions, clicks, engagements, blended CTR, CPC, CPM, engagement rate, and percentage change vs prior period with trend indicators.
- **Pipeline ROI and Deal Attribution** showing all deals opened in the period with ABM/LinkedIn influence flags, pre-deal LinkedIn exposure (impressions, clicks, engagements before deal creation), which campaigns most commonly appear before deals close, and deals with zero ABM exposure (potential targeting gaps).
- **Campaign Group Performance** showing impressions, clicks, engagements, spend, CPC, conversions per group with week-over-week trends.
- **Ad Format Breakdown with proper TLA handling:** TLA uses Engagement Rate (engagements/impressions), while Image/Video/Carousel use Link CTR (clicks/impressions). These are never mixed or compared directly, a critical distinction most reporting tools get wrong.
- **Top Engaged Accounts** showing the top 15 companies sorted by clicks, with ABM stage, intent signals, spend, and CTR per account. Impression hog flagging for companies receiving more than 5x median impressions.
- **ABM Stage Moves** showing companies newly entering “Interested” or “Considering” stages during the period, with direct links to [ZenABM for follow-up](/faq/see-companies-engaging-with-linkedin-ads).
- **Red Flags (auto-detected)** including efficiency drops (spend up, engagement down), impression hogs with no pipeline or stage progression, deals that closed with zero LinkedIn exposure, campaign groups with declining week-over-week performance, format underperformance vs peers, and decaying ads with declining CTR for 3+ weeks.
- **Green Flags** highlighting top-performing campaign groups and formats, best efficiency accounts (high clicks, low CPC), and ABM-influenced deals closed.
- **Quarterly and Annual additions:** top 10 companies by total clicks, top 5 campaign groups by pipeline-influenced deals, month-over-month spend and engagement trend tables, overall ROI summary (pipeline/spend ratio, cost per deal).

### Why ZenABM’s API Instead of LinkedIn’s API Directly

This is the question I get asked most: why not just connect LinkedIn’s Marketing API directly to Claude Code

Here is why that is a bad idea:

- **Getting API access is a multi-week ordeal.** LinkedIn requires you to join the Marketing Developer Platform (MDP), which demands a formal application with detailed use case documentation, legal entity verification, and a review process that typically takes 2 to 4 weeks but can stretch to months. Many applications get rejected without clear explanation. You need to create a LinkedIn App, configure OAuth 2.0 scopes (r\_ads, rw\_ads, r\_ads\_reporting, and more), set up redirect URIs, and navigate documentation.
- **Token management is a constant headache.** LinkedIn access tokens expire every 60 days. Programmatic refresh tokens are valid for 365 days but are only available to approved MDP partners. The refresh token TTL does not reset when used; it counts down from the original grant date. At day 360, both access and refresh tokens expire within 5 days, forcing a full browser-based reauthorization. LinkedIn also reserves the right to revoke tokens at any time. You will need to build token storage, handle refresh logic, and deal with silent authentication failures, breaking your automation.
- **Data pivoting is complex and fragmented.** LinkedIn’s API splits data across dozens of endpoints with different pagination schemes, rate limits (45 million metric values per 5-minute window), and data delays (demographic data is delayed 12 to 24 hours). Permission scopes are artificially compartmentalized across separate “products” – Share on LinkedIn, Sign In with LinkedIn, Community Management, and Marketing are all different products requiring separate applications. You will spend significant time figuring out which endpoints to call, how to join data across them, and how to handle edge cases.
- **You do not get company-level data from LinkedIn’s API.** This is the biggest limitation. LinkedIn’s campaign-level reporting does not tell you which specific companies engaged with your ads. You get aggregate metrics (impressions, clicks, spend) but not “Company X clicked on Campaign Y 14 times this week.” For ABM, this is the entire point. ZenABM solves this by providing company-level engagement data, deal attribution, ABM stage progression, and intent signals through a single API with Bearer token authentication, 100 requests/minute rate limits, and clean JSON responses. With ZenABM’s API, you generate a token from your API Keys page, paste it when the plugin asks, and you are done. No OAuth flows, no token refresh logic, no multi-week application process. The plugin validates your token against the live API, saves it locally (chmod 600, gitignored), and it never leaves your machine.

| Factor | LinkedIn API Direct | ZenABM API |
| **Time to first data** | 2 to 4 weeks (MDP approval) | 5 minutes (generate token) |
| **Authentication** | OAuth 2.0 with browser redirect | Bearer token |
| **Token expiry** | 60 days (access), 365 days (refresh) | Long-lived, no refresh needed |
| **Company-level data** | Not available | Full company engagement, clicks, impressions |
| **Deal attribution** | Not available | CRM deals with LinkedIn influence flags |
| **ABM stages** | Not available | Stage progression, history, transitions |
| **Intent signals** | Not available | Built-in intent signal tracking |
| **Data complexity** | Dozens of endpoints, different schemas | Clean REST API, consistent JSON |

## Why Claude Code is Great for LinkedIn-First ABM

The pattern across all of these use cases is clear: Claude Code turns disconnected point solutions into a unified system. Instead of logging into LinkedIn Campaign Manager, exporting a CSV, uploading it to a spreadsheet, running formulas, copying results into a slide deck, and emailing it to your team, you type one command and get a comprehensive report with insights, red flags, and actionable recommendations.

For LinkedIn-focused ABM specifically, the benefits compound:

- **Company-level visibility:** you can see which specific accounts are engaging, not just aggregate campaign metrics
- **Signal-to-action speed:** when an account moves to “Interested,” you can trigger outreach within hours, not days
- **Cross-workflow automation:** reporting, outbound, ad creation, and optimization all feed into each other through shared context in your CLAUDE.md file
- **No vendor lock-in:** every plugin is open source. Fork it, modify it, build on it

As Ali Yildirim (founder at Understory) put it in his [post](https://www.linkedin.com/posts/aayildirim_ads-should-never-exist-in-a-silo-its-our-activity-7407787117424275456-k1FZ):

> “Ads should never exist in a silo. It’s our duty as good advertisers to make sure every dollar matters.”

Claude Code makes that possible by connecting your ad data to your outbound, your outbound to your CRM, and your CRM back to your targeting, all from one terminal.

The [ROI measurement challenge](/blog/abm-roi) that plagues most ABM programs becomes tractable when your reporting agent can pull deal data, map it to LinkedIn exposure, and tell you which campaigns most commonly appear before deals close.

That is not “interesting data.”

It is how you defend your budget in the next QBR.

## Claude Code for ABM: Final Thoughts

Claude Code removes the biggest ABM infrastructure gap: the gap between insight and action.

You see a signal (account moved to “Interested”), you want to act (trigger outreach), but you need company-level data first. LinkedIn’s API won’t give it to you.

Your spreadsheet won’t process it fast enough. Your team definitely won’t do it manually.

ZenABM solves the data problem.

Claude Code solves the execution problem.

Together, they turn ABM from a campaign you run to a system you operate.

## FAQs About Claude Code for ABM

Some common questions about Claude Code for ABM:

### Do I need to know how to code to use Claude Code for ABM?

No. Claude Code runs in a terminal, but plugins handle all the technical complexity.

You install by pasting a GitHub URL, configure by answering questions Claude asks you (API keys, ICP definition, etc.), and operate by typing natural language commands or slash commands like `/outbound` or `/abm-report`.

If you can use a command line, you can use Claude Code for ABM.

### Is Claude Code free for ABM workflows?

Claude Code itself requires an Anthropic subscription (Claude Pro or Team plan). All the plugins and repos referenced in this post are free and open source. You will also need accounts with the relevant tools – ZenABM (37-day free trial), Apollo.io (free tier with 10,000 records/month), and Smartlead if you are running outbound.

### Can Claude Code manage LinkedIn ads directly, like pausing campaigns or changing budgets?

Yes, through MCP integrations or API connections.

With ZenABM’s API, you can query performance data and surface insights. For direct campaign management (pausing, budget changes), you can use LinkedIn Ads MCP servers that provide read and write access to your LinkedIn Campaign Manager.

The [analysis workflow](/blog/how-to-analyze-linkedin-ads-with-claude-code) is fully documented.

### How is this different from just using ChatGPT or Claude chat?

Chat interfaces are stateless, they forget your brand guidelines, your ICP, your campaign structure between sessions. Claude Code has persistent context through CLAUDE.md files, can read and write files on your machine, execute scripts, call APIs, chain multi-step workflows, and run on schedules. It is the difference between asking AI a question and having AI run your operations.
